About Idle Viewing
Something to watch. Nothing to do.
Idle Viewing is a collection of living ambient scenes for the moments when a blank screen feels too empty and a busy screen feels like too much.
Living scenes
Each environment combines original artwork with slow, layered motion and occasional moments worth noticing.
Automatic rotation
Scenes change every two minutes by default, with a quiet progress ring that can be paused whenever you prefer.
A simple timer
Set a countdown for a break, focus session, or anything else—without turning the screen into a dashboard.
Made for the background
Fullscreen viewing and restrained controls let the atmosphere take over while the interface stays out of the way.
A mix of places and moods
Keep watch above a stormy coast from a salt-worn lighthouse, descend to an abyssal listening station, watch a restless caldera, stand before an overbuilt industrial control panel, wait out the rain in a midnight laundromat, step into a sunlit greenhouse, sit beside a small fire beneath the desert stars, let the sea breeze move through a whitewashed Aegean balcony, watch snow gather outside a cozy mountain cabin, follow koi through an autumn garden pond, share a warm home library with a sleeping cat and a cup of coffee, or watch the countryside pass from a cozy overnight sleeper train, or drift above golden clouds through an airplane passenger window. Each scene has its own pace, palette, weather, and rare events.
Designed for unhurried attention
The motion is intentionally gradual. Details drift, flicker, brighten, or pass through the frame without demanding a response. Leave it on during a break, use it beside a focus session, or simply give an otherwise idle display somewhere interesting to be.
Still growing
New environments and small interactive features will continue to join the collection. The aim stays the same: varied atmospheres, subtle surprises, and as little friction as possible.
